Reek Sunday falls on the last Sunday of July each year. The annual pilgrimage climbs Croagh Patrick mountain in County Mayo in the west of Ireland traditionally starting out well before dawn. The 764m high mountain has a small chapel on its peak built in 1905 that has a running mass on the day for visitors. Some pilgrims still climb the reek barefoot as would have been tradition.
